Birth story - Andrea and baby Stella

My water broke at 7am on the day I turned 39 weeks. It was the most beautiful sunny day outside. Even though I had been incredibly nervous to give birth throughout my entire pregnancy, the minute it began I didn’t have an ounce of anxiety. I labored for 10 hours before I was fully dilated and began to push. My baby girl decided to make her debut at 7:21pm, exactly 12 hours after my water had broke.

We had skin to skin, and she latched for almost two whole hours during her “golden feed”. I am now 3 months postpartum and Stella is still successfully exclusively breastfeeding.
