Closing the Gap

In 2020 lots of people shared a black square and pledged to dedicate themselves to the work of anti-racism. Three years on and Black, Asian and Mixed ethnicity mothers and birthing people, and their babies, still face worse health outcomes in birth than their white counterparts. This needs to change.

Here at The Positive Birth Company we want to support pregnant people. We believe EVERYONE should have the same opportunities in birth, but the data tells us this is not the case.

That’s why we've worked with leading healthcare and inclusion experts to create a FREE online workshop for healthcare professionals on this urgent issue. Welcome to Closing the Gap: Addressing racial disparities in antenatal services and birth outcomes. We’re glad to see you here.

The inequalities in maternity care for Black and Asian women have been highlighted in several recent reports. The Positive Birth Company has responded to this call to action by producing this informative and empowering resource for health professionals. This course will help midwives and other maternity healthcare professionals to understand some of the issues which create inequalities in maternity care and what they can do to improve the care for Black and Brown women.
